My Modalities

IFS (Internal Family Systems)

IFS is the primary model used since I find this approach to be beneficial and expedient in getting to the root of many issues without expectations, pathology, analyzing, or trying to “fix.” With the integration of some of the methods mentioned below, you can cultivate awareness of and compassion for all the various aspects of yourself. For a more detailed description of IFS, please see the Resources page.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful technique that helps process and release emotional discomfort, stress, and personal difficulties. BSP involves using a pointer to guide a client’s eye gaze to specific positions, called “brainspots,” which are believed to correlate with areas in the brain where challenging memories or emotional issues are stored. By maintaining focus on these spots, clients can access and process deep-rooted issues, utilizing the connection between visual focus and internal emotional states.

NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model)

NARM helps clients deepen connection to the parts of self that are organized, coherent and functional. This resource-oriented approach helps bring into awareness and organization the parts of self that are disorganized and dysfunctional without making the regressed, dysfunctional elements the primary theme of the session. This model works harmoniously with IFS.

MBST (Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy)

MBSTis a body-centered, soul-based model that enhances the body’s own capacity to heal from body-stored stress or trauma. It utilizes practices of self-awareness and self-compassion to free the body, breath, and energy flow, which helps bring more vitality to the body and balance to the mind.

Somatic Awareness

Somatic Awareness is a process of consistently being aware of your inner world on multiple levels (body, mind, emotions). Through inquiry, meditation and imagery, you become aware of issues, challenges and/or gifts you may not have recognized before. The body’s signals thus become a pathway towards self-healing, inner peace, and vitality, and can be used to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience.

Spiritual Mentorship

Spiritual Mentorship is a process through which one can deepen and enhance their spiritual progress by having someone who has gone through many of  the challenging experiences brought upon during the spiritual journey. I have decades of experience cultivating intuition, doing spiritual practices, and sharing the wisdom accumulated to help others through their life long work of spiritual formation.  I am also an ordained ministerial counselor.

Unattached Burden Release

An “unattached burden” in IFS therapy refers to external entities or energies that influence an individual’s thoughts and behaviors. Unlike inherent parts of the psyche, these burdens are seen as foreign and often malevolent forces. They are not born within the individual but are external influences that have entered the person’s system. Addressing unattached burdens involves recognizing their presence and dealing with them calmly and compassionately, similar to handling internal parts in IFS therapy.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese form of hands-on energy healing, in which the practitioner uses their palms to transmit a life force energy field directly to the client. This modality encourages both emotional and physical healing and can be used either in person or remotely.

The Letting Go Technique

The key idea from David R. Hawkins’ “Letting Go” technique is that negative emotions like anger, guilt, or resentment suppress our positive emotions and higher states of consciousness. By letting go of these negative feelings through a process of surrendering, we can release the energy bound up in negativity and allow our natural positive emotions to shine through.

Negative emotions act as a filter or barrier that blocks awareness of positive, higher-vibrational emotions and states. By bringing awareness to the negative emotion itself without judgment or resistance, we create space for it to naturally dissipate through surrender. This letting go releases the blocked energy, removing the filter and allowing our innate positive emotions to emerge freely.

Personalized Meditation Coaching

Are you curious about meditation but unsure where to start? Or perhaps you’ve tried meditating before but struggled to maintain a consistent practice? As a dedicated meditation coach, I offer a personalized approach to guide you on a transformative journey tailored specifically to you.

A Customized Approach

My coaching philosophy centers on the understanding that meditation is not one-size-fits-all. Through my own studies and practices, I’ve gathered a diverse collection of techniques. Together, we’ll explore various meditation approaches to find what resonates best with your unique personality, lifestyle, and physical comfort. Whether it’s mindfulness, present moment awareness, or movement-based meditation, we’ll discover the perfect fit for you.

Understanding Your Inner Landscape

Beyond meditation practice, I focus on the important component of thought exploration. We’ll work together to develop a deeper understanding of your thought patterns. This approach involves:

  • Recognizing different types of thoughts
  • Learning to observe thoughts without judgment
  • Understanding the nature of mental narratives
  • Developing a compassionate relationship with your inner dialogue
  • Distinguishing between reactive thinking and mindful awareness

This method helps you create distance from your thoughts, seeing them as passing mental events rather than absolute truths about yourself.

Starting Where You Are

We begin exactly where you are in your meditation journey. For beginners, I’ll coach you on how to start with brief sessions and gradually increase duration on your own as your comfort and confidence grow. For those with some experience, we’ll refine your technique and help you overcome any plateaus you’ve encountered.
